Tamsin-Mid North Coast 2010.

Before photos taken 26.2.10. Rug put on 25.3.10

After shots taken 5.5.10. She still had a long way to go to get her skin 100% healthy and diet was the next step for her owner.
She had her rug put back on after winter in Sept/Oct before the itch season and lived in a normal paddock with her friends this past summer. Her rug held up very well with only a few repairs needed as she got bitten by paddock mates and put her head through the barbed fencing to eat on the other side. I personally would still have at least standoff electric fencing around my property.
Vet Trial Arab Gelding 2010.

This gelding was for sale and the owner had spent considerable time and money keeping his itch to a minimum. He was rugged and lotion put on twice daily and in a small electric yard that was moved regularly so he had grass. He had lost weight and the owner had dropped his sale price to about $1500.00. The vet took these before shots on the 18/3/10.This gelding was bred by this lady and was trained up to a point ready to be backed. She found him pushy, nippy and a tad unsafe while in the paddock with him. The trial was to be run over 1 month.

The first thing the owner noticed after 2 days was that the gelding was no longer pushy or nippy and over bearing. He put weight on within 8 days. Which pleased her no end. She was spending less time maintaining him, and less on lotions. The vet was scheduled to come back on the 15/4/10 to do more photos and check the horse. On the 14/4 the horse sold for his full sale price and as such the vet had to race out on the 15/4 at 6.30 am to get quick shots before the horse left to meet the transport. ( that is why the after shots aren't exactly the same angles as the before shots, sorry from the vet.)
